What Is High Pressure Die Casting
High pressure die casting, commonly called as “HPDC”, is a cost-efficient and highly engineered manufacturing method which the process injects molten metal at high speed under high pressure into a closed steel die cavity called “mold”. The die is divided into half stationary and half moving mounted to the die casting machine’s platens. Once the molten metal has solidified, the die is opened and the part is ejected from the mold, and following to remove gates and flash for secondary machining operations. Then the die is closed up and the process is repeated in rapid succession. This process can produce various product forms with high quantities of accurate parts in a short period of time.
